Frequently asked questions.

Wedding Films

Does the final Wedding Film use dialogue from throughout the day or is it more of a music video?

My films are driven by the audio, from the speeches, your vows, little moments getting ready, these are what drive the story of your film and remembering your day.

I use a carefully selected rights managed music licensing platform called Musicbed. This platform helps connect me with real music artists who make incredible songs… to be honest, I sometimes listen to it just for fun!

Using real audio from your wedding day and tasteful music selections, your wedding film will be in the style of a cinematic documentary, featuring your love story on your wedding day.

Can I choose the music?

I would be more than happy to share my ideas for the music tracks for your wedding film! Typically, I am unable to take requests for specific songs/music, like what you may hear on the radio as these song licenses are thousands of dollars. However, Musicbed has an amazing selection of music that I pay to license that we can pick out together.

When can I expect my film to be available to view?

Each wedding/project is a little different, however I typically shoot to have your final film to you in about 3-4 months. To get an estimate on delivery times and package options contact me below!

How do I view my film?

I use my professional Vimeo & YouTube account, for digital delivery of your wedding film. This comes with the standard package, however, you do have the option to add on a physical drive copy of your wedding film(s) as well as RAW footage.

Business clients: projects will be made accessible to you for use with your companies branding and social media. Please contact me to learn more about filmmaking for business.

Wedding Photography

What’s included in your wedding photography packages?

I shoot continuously all day to capture all the most important moments as well as the unplanned moments. I use my experienced storytelling abilities to fully capture all of the little details, candid moments, and of course the fridge pics!

For most of the day, the style of photography I’ll shoot in is photojournalism. This means that I prefer to capture things as they happen; you won’t find me overly staging you, making you uncomfortable or trying to make the day all about me. My belief is that it is more important to capture you and your family as you are without getting in the way.

After your wedding you will be able to access all of your digital edits in your online gallery for viewing, sharing, downloading, and printing. Yes, you also get all printing rights to print wherever you wish, however, I stand by the amazing quality that your built in shop has to offer for your gallery.

How far do you travel?

I’ll travel wherever you wish to go! Yes I am based in Duluth, MN but I love to travel where your story takes you. Some of my dream locations to travel and document a wedding are the Pacific Northwest, Sedona Arizona, Maui, Joshua Tree, and Yosemite, if you are getting married in any of these locations let me know!

Do you hire a second shooter?

You have the option to add on a second shooter if you wish. All you need to do is let me know and I’ll include that in your proposal. I’m deeply connected with the creative community here in Duluth and I work with individuals that share my philosophy and passion. I’ll take on the hiring of a second shooter and paying them myself if you select that you’d like a second shooter. If this is something you are interested in please let me know during our consultation and I’ll advise you on if I think you’ll need a second shooter or not. I recommend a second shooter if your wedding guest count exceeds 100 and/or if your wedding party exceeds 12 total.

What is your editing style?

I edit your final images to look timeless. I believe that photographs are a passageway to our past. We want these images to look back on, to pass down, to share with family, to remember. A timeless true to life edit makes these photographs stand up to the test of time. 10 years from now, we don’t want our guests or children looking around at our wedding photos up on the wall wondering why our skin is orange, the sky is teal, and the grass looks dead, hehe!

As photographers our job is to foster nostalgia, to create images that will become more valuable as the years go by, and to be transported back to that moment. My aim is to guide you back to the smell of the pine, to hear the crashing waves of Lake Superior, and to feel the warmth of the presence of friends and family coming together.
